About the Event
This class is for individuals living with genital Herpes Simplex Virus 1 or 2 and co-hosted with Something Positive For Positive People. Our goal is to encourage people living with HSV to confidently initiate conversations that lead to an HSV disclosure.
STARS Talk is a framework to help you disclose your needs, desires and boundaries. STARS™ reminds you of 5 important elements in order to have "the Talk": STI Status, Turn-ons, Avoids, Relationship Intentions/expectations, Safer Sex Container.
This class we will be learning and practicing a safer sex talk using the STARS Talk™ framework. The practice will help not only disclosure, but being on the receiving end in real time in a brave space for practice . By integrating aspects of boundary setting, desires and intentions, we can that extend what it means beyond being locked into having to disclose STI status to a potential partner.
We will review each element and form breakout groups to practice. You will be given a worksheet to help guide and give you a script. No need to disclose what does not feel safe. This is an opportunity to just practice in a container. Each breakout group will have a facilitator that has been trained and is knowledgable.
Enrollment will include the STARS Talk™ Worksheet and STI Considerations Guide.
50% of all proceeds will be given to Something Positive For Positive People. d
